Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Huellink processes, why it uses it, and what controls users have.
1. Controller and scope
This policy applies to the use of Huellink by veterinary clinics, their staff, pet owners and visitors to public pages. The service provider is identified as Huellink.
2. Data that may be processed
- Professional account data: name, email, phone number, veterinary clinic, hashed credentials and subscription status.
- Owner data: name, email, phone number and contact details entered to manage their pets.
- Pet data: name, species, breed, photo, identification, vaccinations, history and data related to loss or finding.
- Technical data: identifiers needed for sessions, QR codes, security, scan logging and service operation.
- Location: only when a person voluntarily chooses to share their location in a feature that requires it.
3. Purposes
Data is used to provide the service, authenticate users, link owners and pets, manage veterinary information, generate profiles and QR codes, facilitate reunions, manage plans and trials, maintain security, prevent abuse, and respond to support or privacy requests.
4. Public information
Some pet data may become public when a QR profile is used or when a post is activated in the lost-pet network. Huellink seeks to limit that exposure to information necessary for identification and contact. Public publication must be controlled by the authorized user.
5. Data provided by veterinary clinics
Veterinary clinics must have a legitimate basis and the corresponding authorizations to upload client data. They must also seek to ensure that data is accurate, relevant and not excessive for the purpose for which it is used.
6. Passwords and payment cards
Passwords are stored using hashing mechanisms and must not be stored in plain text. In the current MVP, Huellink does not need to store full payment-card numbers. If payments are integrated in the future, specialized providers should be used and card data should not be stored when unnecessary.
7. Sharing with third parties
Huellink does not sell personal data to advertisers. It may use essential technology providers for hosting, email, messaging, operational analytics or payments, limiting access to what is necessary to provide those services and subject to security and confidentiality obligations.
8. Retention
Data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with obligations, maintain reasonable technical records or address claims. When it is no longer necessary, it may be deleted, anonymized or retained only where there is a valid legal reason.
9. Security
Huellink applies reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No Internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security, so credentials must be kept private and incidents should be reported promptly.
10. Rights of individuals
Under applicable Argentine law, data subjects may exercise rights over their data, including access, rectification, updating and, where appropriate, deletion. Requests must allow Huellink to reasonably verify the identity of the person making them.
11. Minors
Professional accounts are not intended for minors. If a veterinary clinic enters contact details for a person responsible for a pet, it must ensure that it has a valid basis for doing so and avoid unnecessary data relating to minors.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be amended due to changes in the service or applicable law. Material changes may require renewed acceptance, and the platform may retain the accepted version.
13. Contact and supervisory authority
Privacy inquiries may be made through the official channel provided by Huellink. In Argentina, the Agency for Access to Public Information (Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública) is the supervisory authority for personal-data protection.
Families can request deletion of their account from Mi Huellink or from huellink.online/eliminar_cuenta.php.
